A Message from the New Executive Director of NDEO......

                                   Susan McGreevy-Nichols

On May 1st I assumed the role of Executive Director of the National Dance Education Organization from Founding Executive Director Jane Bonbright. Jane’s contributions to NDEO over the last 13 years are too numerous to mention; all I can say is the field of dance education has benefited greatly and evolved due to Jane’s singular efforts. We owe her a debt of gratitude.

Moving forward as Executive Director, my main goal is to continue along the path that Jane has laid out and bring in the financial and human resources needed to support new NDEO initiatives and existing programs such as the Online Professional Development Institute, the re-envisioning of the National K-12 Dance Standards/Assessments, the development of a praxis exam for Dance, the National Honor Society of Dance Arts, and the Dance Education Literature and Research descriptive index. Furthermore, as the organization continues to grow, it will be essential to increase staff positions so NDEO can continue to offer high quality programs and services to its members. Ultimately, all efforts must focus on the advancement and promotion of high quality education in the art of dance.
