2018 Thank A Dance Teacher Day

On Thursday, May 3, 2018, join the National Dance Education Organization for #ThankADanceTeacherDay. Help us elevate the profile of dance education and the teachers who make it possible using social media.

Thank one of the dance teachers who has helped shape your life - share your story on 5/3/2018 using the hashtag #ThankADanceTeacherDay and the link ndeo.org/tadt2018.

You deserve to be
celebrated

Here are a few great ways to make sure that your students are able to give you the thanks you deserve on May 3.

  • Update your Profile Picture to include the Thank a Dance Teacher Day Frame, which will be available on our event page May 3.
  • Make a donation to NDEO's Thank A Dance Teacher Fund in honor of a dance teacher who has impacted your life, then share about it on social media!
  • Host a personal fundraiser on Facebook to raise money to attend the 2018 NDEO Conference in San Diego this October. To create a Facebook fundraiser for yourself or a fellow dance educator follow these steps:
    • Click "Fundraisers" in the left menu of your Facebook News Feed.
    • Click "Raise Money"
    • Select "Yourself" or "Friend"
    • Set a fundraising goal to cover the cost of Early Bird Registration ($380), or include the cost of travel and hotel accomodations.
    • Set your end date to May 15, 2018 to allow time for the funds to be distributed to your account in time to purchase your registration before the Early Bird Registration Deadline on May 30
    • Select "Education" as the category
    • Create a title for your Fundraiser "Miss Tiana's Thank A Dance Teacher Day Fund" or "Help Tiana Attend the National Dance Education Organization Conference"
    • Share more information about why you want to attend conference and how you and your students will benefit in the "Why are you raising money?" section (be sure to mention that May 3 is #ThankADanceTeacherDay!)
    • Select a cover photo - we recommend using either a photo of yourself teaching or the Thank A Dance Teacher Day logo
    • Share your fundraiser on your personal Facebook page, your studio or department page, and any dance community groups you are a part of.
    • Invite friends, students, and your supportive dance parents to donate to your fundraiser to help you connect with the dance education community and receive the professional development training you deserve
