Student Scholarship Guidelines

NDEO is proud to offer annual scholarships to highly qualified college students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in dance or dance education to help defray the costs associated with attending. Recipients receive complimentary conference registration and a one-year complimentary NDEO membership.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a current NDEO member
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a dance or dance education degree program at an accredited degree granting institution

Online Application Details

  • Basic contact and demographic information
  • NDEO member numbe
  • A description of your current involvement in the field, professional goals, and reasons for requesting the scholarship (500 words maximum)
  • One Letter of Recommendation from a Professor, Colleague, or Friend 
Special consideration will be given to students who:
  • Show exceptional promise in dance or dance education through academic achievement, scholarly works, teaching in the field, etc.
  • Plan a future in dance education
  • Offer evidence of leadership in NDEO (student representation, student organization, state affiliates, NHSDA chapter, etc.)
  • Are an accepted NDEO Conference presenter
  • Did not receive a scholarship in prior years
