NDEO advances the field of dance education by providing standards, research, and professional development for dance teachers, and advocates for access to dance education for everyone, regardless of of gender, age, race or culture, socio-economic status, ability or interest.   This NDEO donation fund was set up in honor of CLI Studios and Choreographer William Forsythe's World Premiere of The Barre Project (a film) featuring world-class artists Tiler Peck, Lex Ishimoto, Brooklyn Mack and Roman Mejia perform exhilarating works at the Barre, all choreographed via Zoom. NDEO was voted into existence on March 6, 1998. To celebrate NDEO's "birthday", we've set a goal to raise $2,500 to help NDEO continue to advance dance education in the arts and support more professional development scholarships for dance teachers. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $50 or $500. This year in 2021, we are offering 14 PD Scholarships for dance teachers and we hope with our Birthday fundraiser we can support even more scholarships in 2022.

With your support, we can continue offering professional development scholarships to dance educators for 2022 and beyond. NDEO is pleased to offer Professional Development Scholarships to recognize excellence in the field of dance education, support students in their training, and help educators achieve their career goals through professional development. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, NDEO is pleased to offer FOURTEEN (14) scholarships in 2021!Each recipient will receive a $600 credit in their NDEO account to be used towards NDEO Professional Development opportunities of their choosing as well as a complimentary 1-year membership with NDEO. This will allow for recipients to “mix and match” their Professional Development as opposed to past opportunities where recipients had to choose between a semester of OPDI courses or attending the National Conference.For our 2021 Scholarship Recipients' students and millions of others, success on and off the stage starts with a dance teacher. When you donate to NDEO, you support those often unsung teachers who make a tremendous impact on the lives of their students, and you ensure that the next generation of students will have access to the quality dance education that can make all the difference in their lives.

The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) envisions a nation that affords every citizen equal access and opportunity to quality dance arts education regardless of gender, age, race or culture, socio-economic status, ability or interest. Donations of any amount help to facilitate the growth and financial stability of NDEO and help us keep pace with ever-increasing demands to expand and improve member services, programs and advocacy. Funds support day to day operations as well as our many programs.

Thom Cobb passed away suddenly on December 2, 2016. This fund honors Thom's dedication to dance education and his service to NDEO by providing for a scholarship for a dance educator to attend NDEO National Conference. Thom has been a member of NDEO since 2002. He served two, three-year terms on the Board of Directors and was President 2013-2016. As president, Thom oversaw the restructuring of the NDEO governance, worked with the organization to get more states to offer teaching certification in dance, oversaw Task Forces that included the development of the Priorities for Dance Education, and provided both leadership and direction to the NDEO Board of Directors and NDEO Membership. When elected Thom said, "I am very happy to serve in this position and give back to an organization that has given me, and my wife, so much," Cobb said.
