A Thanksgiving Message from NDEO

In this season of thanksgiving, we are reflecting upon what we are most grateful for this year at NDEO. It has been an incredible year! We welcomed two new staff members, launched five new OPDI courses, released the College Dance Directory, announced our new Priorities for Dance Education, and celebrated the 20th anniversary of our National Conference with record attendance. Of course, none of this would be possible without our members and supporters. We want to extend to you our heartfelt thanks to you for another successful year, working together to advance dance education centered in the arts!

To our members, thank you for recognizing the importance and value of NDEO. Together, we stand up for dance education in our schools, colleges, and communities. We appreciate your investment in NDEO membership, and hope that you will continue working with us to fulfill our shared vision of a nation that affords every citizen equal access and opportunity to dance arts education regardless of gender, age, race or culture, socio-economic status, ability or interest.

To our volunteers, thank you for giving of your time and talents to benefit NDEO and the field of dance education. Our organization relies on the support of volunteers in different ways throughout the year, including adjudicating applications for NDEO's Artistic Merit, Leadership and Academic Achievement Award, serving on Board committees, and providing support at our conferences and events. Your time and expertise is appreciated!

To our donors, thank you for helping to make our work possible. As a non-profit organization, NDEO relies on the generous support of our donors to help us provide research, advocacy, and resources for dance educators and their students, and to fund our scholarship programs. These scholarships enable promising educators with financial need to advance their careers, improve their teaching practices, and impact their students through professional development.

In dance, collaboration is key - and NDEO is thankful for all of our wonderful collaborators. May we continue to honor the synergy of our field and work to support dance education for all and advance the field together! We wish you a safe, joyful and rejuvenating holiday with family, friends, and loved ones.
